VALENCIA, Spain (AP) Valencia midfielder Ever Banega will undergo surgery on an ankle injured in a car accident on Sunday.
Valencia says the Argentine will undergo the operation after being hurt in an accident that occurred after he left a team training session. Valencia did not say which ankle was injured.
Spanish media reported Banega forgot to apply the hand brake as he filled his car with petrol and it rolled over his foot.
Valencia did not say how long Banega will be sidelined.
