Spanish football player dies from heart failure

MADRID(AP) Spanish news agency Efe has reported that a 21-year-old Spanish football player has died from heart failure suffered after a training session.

Luis Miguel Lastra was found late Friday in the stairwell of his home following practice with his club Ciudad Jardin, of the Andalucia first division in a regional league.

Ciudad Jardin president Jose Bonilla told Efe the player's death was ''natural, as a result of heart failure.''

Lastra's death follows deaths of other Spanish football players from heart-related problems in recent years, including Espanyol captain Daniel Jarque and Sevilla's Antonio Puerta.
