MADRID(AP) Striker Diego Costa has joined Rayo Vallecano on loan from Spanish league Atletico Madrid until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old Brazilian player scored eight goals last season, his first with Atletico.
Costa injured ligaments in his right leg last year and has yet to play a game this season, although he has already trained with his new club.
Costa says ''I am not fully fit after six months on the sideline, but I am feeling well.''
The promoted Rayo is 13th in the league standings, three points above the relegation zone. The team hosts Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
